What Would You Do?

Knowing how to drive and knowing what to do when something goes wrong are two different skills. What happens when the car becomes the problem?

A flat tire, dead battery, unfamiliar warning light or unexpected breakdown can quickly become overwhelming—especially when a new driver experiences it alone for the first time.

The Car Care & Roadside Safety Clinic helps drivers understand what to do, what not to do, and when the safest decision is to call for help.

Learn it. Practice It.

Roadside situations are difficult to understand from a checklist or YouTube video alone. Learn how to practically and safely respond to car problems or roadside emergencies.

During the clinic, participants learn alongside an experienced Safety First instructor and get practical exposure to the situations drivers are most likely to encounter on the road.

By the end of the clinic, participants can:

Complete a basic pre-trip vehicle safety check and read dashboard warning lights

Check tire pressure/tread and change a flat tire

Safely use jumper cables or a jump pack

Assemble or evaluate a roadside emergency kit

Apply the Stop, Assess, Protect, Act framework to a breakdown, collision, or roadside stop
